Firefighting Operations Continue at Nubarashen Landfill
Since June 8, the emergency rescue teams of the Fire and Rescue Department of Yerevan have been carrying out firefighting operations at the Nubarashen landfill.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia has informed NEWS.am that on the early morning of June 12, three firefighting units from the Yerevan Fire and Rescue Department, along with an operational group from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Department, have headed to the site.
It is noted that on June 8, at 10:04 AM, the National Center for Crisis Management was alerted about a fire that broke out at the Nubarashen landfill in Yerevan. Six firefighting units and the operational group from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Department responded to the scene.
The fire was contained by 6:40 PM, and a watch was established. On June 9 and 10, the fire and rescue team on duty at the scene noticed two new fire hotspots, one of which was extinguished, resulting in approximately 400 cubic meters of construction waste being burned. The second hotspot has been contained, posing no further risk of spread.
The firefighting operations have involved five water tankers from the Yerevan municipality, two cargo trucks, five tractors, an auxiliary vehicle (water tanker), two engineering vehicles, and a dump truck.
