Shushi Instead of Defending, You Blockaded the Government Building, What Were You Waiting For, Did You Expect Shushi to Fall? - Pashinyan
We have given everything needed to the army, but have not received anything in return, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in Odzun.
“Yes, the investigation of the war and its circumstances should become a key goal, starting from me and ending with others,” he said.
Pashinyan noted that there is a spiritual bond between this government and the people. “The people know that the Prime Minister they voted for is their Prime Minister; when they hear a news that we are giving away Meghri, they ask the question, ‘Would I give Meghri?’ and their answer is ‘no,’ which means they wouldn’t give either,” Pashinyan said.
He announced that they have not purchased weapons from the 1980s, but rather modern weapons. “I came to try to bring back Artsakh to the negotiating table,” he stated.
The Acting Prime Minister mentioned that they fought desperately in the war because there was no clarity on where to stop and where everything should end. “If I am guilty, judge me, shoot me; I will stand humbly before the wall of execution,” he said.
Responding to the statement by the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, who expressed doubts that Shushi was deliberately surrendered, he said: “Of course, Shushi was deliberately surrendered. While you were supposed to defend Shushi, you blockaded the government building to attack it. What were you waiting for? Did you expect Shushi to fall? Now among those who were in Shushi and those who left, two are in your teams; call them and ask who surrendered Shushi. One is Seyran Ohanyan, one of the key responsible persons there, let the former chief of staff stand and say who gave the order, let him say, ‘I gave the order,’ did he carry it out? If…,” Pashinyan declared.
