Eight Children with Symptoms of Poisoning Transferred from Preschool No. 3 in Vayk to Medical Facility
On June 9, a case of poisoning occurred in the Vayots Dzor region. Around 23:20, a call was received from the ‘Vayk Medical Facility’ LLC to the Vayk police department reporting that a large number of children were transferred there due to deteriorating conditions.
According to shamshyan.com, a patrol team from the Vayk police department was dispatched to the hospital, where it was ascertained that the hospitalized children include five-year-old Arpi G., four-year-old Mikael B., five-year-old Noy A., four-year-old Arshak A., five-year-old Sargis A., four-year-old Menua S., and six-year-old Karen E. During the night, around 2 a.m., six-year-old Victoria F. from Vayk was also brought to the medical facility.
The Vayk police determined that the children are students of Preschool No. 3 in Vayk, who fell ill after having meals at the preschool. Staff from the ‘Food Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia Vayots Dzor Regional Center’ and the ‘National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia Vayots Dzor Branch’ arrived at the preschool to collect samples.
Materials are being prepared at the investigation department of the Vayk police regarding the incident.
