Daily Vaccination Rate in Armenia Ranges from 1800 to 1900 Against Coronavirus, Acting Minister Says
In Armenia, between 1800 and 1900 people are being vaccinated daily against the coronavirus. The total number of vaccinated individuals has already exceeded 50,000. This was stated by the acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a press conference.
According to her, the overwhelming majority of citizens have been vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine. Regarding the capabilities of the healthcare system, it is possible to perform about 3000 vaccinations daily.
As Anahit Avanesyan noted, efforts are currently underway in Armenia to increase refrigeration capacities to allow for the import of vaccines that require a cold chain. All refrigerators capable of maintaining such temperatures have been cataloged in the country, and work is ongoing to acquire additional units.
The acting minister mentioned that there are agreements in place to acquire Novavax and Johnson vaccines in the autumn. The offer from Pfizer will be finalized soon, while there are still no clear agreements regarding the acquisition of Moderna vaccines. Concerning the existing vaccines, new batches are also expected.
