“When Nikol Pashinyan was in Kosh Prison, one night Anna Hakobyan called me”: Zaruhy Postanjyan
Leader of the ‘Yerkir Tsirani’ party Zaruhy Postanjyan wrote on her Facebook page:
“ONE NIGHT AS A RARE CALLER, SHE SAYS, ‘CALL HIM A FEW MONTHS LATER.’ A particular episode related to Nikol Pashinyan, of which I have been a direct witness:
In autumn 2010, when Nikol Pashinyan was the editor-in-chief of the ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ newspaper and serving a sentence in the ‘Kosh’ penitentiary, his wife Anna Hakobyan called me in the middle of the night, asking me to go to the ‘Kosh’ penitentiary as Nikol Pashinyan was facing serious issues regarding his personal safety in prison.
I went to the ‘Kosh’ penitentiary and saw Nikol Pashinyan in a nervous and scared state for hours. He stated that he had been attacked and wanted to be transferred to another prison. His request was granted, and he was transferred to the ‘Artik’ penitentiary where he remained in excellent conditions, without contact with other inmates.
Should one be surprised or cry... The person who could not withstand even one night in the ‘Kosh’ penitentiary tells our compatriots in Baku’s prisons to hold on for a few months.”
