Movement of Armenian Citizens from Armenia to France: Reopening of Borders and Visa Issuance Procedures
Starting from June 9, the flow of travelers between France and foreign nations will reopen according to a modified procedure, which depends on the sanitary situation of third countries and the vaccinations of travelers. Based on sanitary indicators, a classification of countries has been established, and any entry into France and any exit from our territory remains strictly controlled.
The message from the French Embassy in Armenia also states: "Armenia is classified in the orange zone (active circulation of the virus with controlled proportions, without the spread of variants of concern). The movement of Armenian citizens from Armenia to France does not guarantee immediate entry, as this is determined by border restrictions in place."
There are two possible options:
1. If you are vaccinated with a vaccine recognized by the European Medicines Agency (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson), you are eligible to travel to France with a negative PCR test result certificate taken no more than 72 hours before the flight or a negative antigen test result certificate taken no more than 48 hours before the flight.
2. If you are not vaccinated, you can only enter France if your trip falls within one of the justified reasons for traveling.
- • You can find the list of justified reasons in the international travel mandatory declaration.
• If you are not vaccinated and arriving in France, you must:
- o Fill out the International Travel Mandatory Declaration to mainland France, which you can download here in English and French.
- o Present a negative PCR test result certificate taken no more than 72 hours before the flight or a negative antigen test result certificate taken no more than 48 hours before the flight (The certificate must be in English or French).
- o Upon arrival in France, you are required to self-isolate at your chosen place for a period of seven days and complete the Declaration.
- o Upon entering the territory of France, you may also undergo random antigen testing.
Timeline for resuming visa issuance.
Note: The possibility of visa issuance does not guarantee immediate entry, as this is determined by border restrictions in place.
The gradual resumption of visa issuance will follow this timeline (subject to change):
- • Starting from Wednesday, June 9, resumption of issuing long-term visas for all categories (it is specified that a long-term visa is not a Schengen visa. It is granted to individuals for establishing a long time in France for more than 90 days).
- • Starting from Tuesday, June 15, resumption of issuing short-term visas for the parents of French citizens who already have an expired travel visa and upon presenting an invitation for accommodation.
- • Resumption of issuing all categories of short-term visas – date to be confirmed.
We remind you that visa applications are submitted only online via the FRANCE-VISAS website, and the acceptance of visa applicants is done exclusively through the appointment service in advance.
