Some Relatives Do Not Believe It Is Their Soldier's Body, Therefore Have Not Collected It: Auroranews Clarifies New Details from the Ministry of Health
The Ministry of Health officially reports regarding the information that has surfaced on the internet. In the branch of the Abovyan Forensic Medical Center, several remains and bodies have been examined and identified, which have been temporarily stored in the center's basement with thermal insulation. Relatives have expressed a desire to transfer them to another location.
Despite the fact that moving the remains is deemed impractical and the current storage conditions meet professional requirements, we have decided to accommodate the parents' wishes and transfer them to the refrigerated section of another forensic center, sparing the relatives from additional distress.
Once again, we note that the remains have undergone appropriate identification and are awaiting collection by the relatives for burial. The Ministry of Health will establish a working group to study issues related to the organization of work at the Abovyan Forensic Medical Center.
Auroranews contacted the Ministry of Health to clarify why parents and relatives are not collecting the bodies or remains. Ministry spokesperson Hripsime Khachatryan stated that some parents and relatives do not believe it is their soldier's body. This is the reason they have not yet collected or buried them.
The bodies of the identified servicemen seen in the bags in the photo have both entry and exit documented in the records, with the relevant notes present.
