Children Admitted to Hospital with Preliminary Diagnosis of Acute Gastroenteritis, Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health of Armenia reports that children have been admitted to the hospital with a preliminary diagnosis of acute gastroenteritis.

Today, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Armenia received information that 11 children from one of the kindergartens in Yerevan, exhibiting symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and general weakness, were transported to the National Center for Infectious Diseases.

Following medical examination, they were preliminarily diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. An epidemiological investigation is being conducted at the kindergarten to determine the cause. Samples are being collected for laboratory investigation. The work is ongoing.
