A Soldier of the Army Has Never Scratched for Anything: Seyran Ohanyan

Our army has never been hungry, stated Seyran Ohanyan, former Minister of Defense and member of the Armenia alliance, while commenting on the government's statements regarding the army during a conversation with journalists.

He considers these government statements to be an attack on the army itself.

“They can direct questions to people included in their list who have dealt with the army's logistical support issues for many years. I am confident that they will confirm that the army has not been hungry. A soldier of the army has never scratched for anything,” Ohanyan noted.

He emphasized that there have been improvements in food supply both at permanent deployment sites and during combat duty.

“Comparisons are being made between past and present activities, especially in terms of engineering work and the army's armament and military technology. The percentages mentioned, ranging from 20 to 6000, are incomprehensible to me. This is manipulation aimed at confusing and misleading one’s own people,” Ohanyan said.

According to him, if the current authorities were not in power, the army would restore its former reputation at a faster pace.
