This Government Has Tried to Ensure That We Are Fragmented as a Nation, We Are Weak, and We Lose the War: Serzh Sargsyan
“These elections were not our goal or dream. We were all forced into early elections during these difficult days for the homeland, and we accepted the challenge and are ready to deliver the 'final blow' for the future of Armenia,” stated the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, at the official kickoff of the campaign for the 'Honorary' alliance.
Sargsyan noted that according to protocol, he was supposed to speak first, but since the alliance is led by Arthur Vanetsyan, he should always take the lead, while Sargsyan stands behind with his advice and experience.
Sargsyan emphasized that in the coming days, they would present their vision for the future to the public, tour around Armenia, adding that they are determined.
“We all need to clearly understand that this is not an ordinary election; unfortunately, this time it is a choice between having a state and not having one, it is a chance to get a last chance. I do not want my descendants or your children to hang pictures of the Tatev Monastery or Lake Sevan next to a photo of Ararat at home, as a reminder of another lost part of the homeland,” he said.
Sargsyan added that no one could have imagined that heroes who gave their lives for the homeland would not have the opportunity to rest peacefully on that same land.
“This government has tried to ensure that we are fragmented as a nation, we are weak, and we lose the war and are condemned to a slow death, and now we are in that situation,” he stated.
Sargsyan noted that the upcoming elections represent an opportunity to defeat death and added that there are attempts to lead the political agenda in the wrong direction.
He stated that everything should be deemed unimportant, except for turning the outcome of the war in our favor. “Therefore, all those who stand in the trenches alongside us against the state-destroying miscreants, starting from this moment, rather than sensing the scent of our victory, will join us in the work of bringing back the bewildered masses of society; we will announce not amnesty, but a general amnesty,” said the third President of Armenia.
