Dispute Over Parking Leads to Fatal Stabbing in Shengavit: 31-Year-Old Man Kills Uncle
On the evening of June 5, an ambulance crew was dispatched to 1st Street of Inner Shengavit. A woman had discovered her brother's body in one of the houses. Soon, a report was received at the Shengavit police department from the ambulance station, indicating that the body of a 55-year-old man showed signs of injury.
Operational investigative groups, forensic experts, and medical examiners who arrived at the scene established that the injury was the result of a stabbing with a cutting object. A criminal case was initiated on murder charges by the local investigative unit, which prompted Shengavit criminal investigators to carry out operational measures.
In order to solve this particularly serious crime with fresh traces, they collaborated with partners from the Main Department of Criminal Investigation and the Yerevan Department. Thanks to their joint efforts, it was revealed that an argument over parking a vehicle escalated into a conflict between the victim and his sister's son, during which the nephew stabbed his uncle.
The 31-year-old suspect was located hours after the incident, taken to the Shengavit police department, and subsequently presented to the territorial preliminary investigation body. He has provided a confession and has been arrested. The knife used in the crime has been found. Examinations have been appointed. Investigations are ongoing.
