Biden and Erdogan to Meet: Nagorno-Karabakh Issue to be Discussed

During the NATO summit, a meeting is scheduled between U.S. President Joe Biden and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during which the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh will also be addressed. This was announced today by Jake Sullivan, U.S. National Security Advisor, at a press briefing held at the White House.

"The two presidents will have a wide and comprehensive agenda of discussion on regional issues, such as Syria, Iran, and Nagorno-Karabakh. However, the main agenda will center on Turkey's role in negotiations with Afghanistan," Sullivan stated.

According to him, Biden and Erdogan will also discuss human rights issues in the region. "Biden knows Erdogan very well. The leaders of the two countries are looking forward to this meeting, hoping to use this opportunity to reassess their relationship and partnership," Sullivan said. He noted that the meeting will also address issues on which the two countries have differing viewpoints.

It is worth mentioning that the NATO summit in 2021 is scheduled to take place in Brussels on June 24.
