Armenia Has No Allies on the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue

Armenia has no allies on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. This was stated today by the first President of Armenia, leader of the Armenian National Congress, and Prime Minister candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan during an electoral gathering. He reminded that he had mentioned this 25-30 years ago. However, according to him, this simple truth has remained unrecognized.

“Now they repeat again, ‘Well, if Russia is not an ally, Europe will be, America will be, Iran will be.’ What does this mean? This means that we do not want to learn lessons from our bitter experiences over the last three decades, not just from our ancient history,” said Ter-Petrosyan.

He stated that Armenia made a mistake 100 years ago, and if it repeats the same mistake today, it will become a state deserving of the world’s utmost pity and contempt, ranked alongside Somalia and Yemen.

It is worth noting that snap parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held on June 20. A total of 26 parties and alliances have submitted their applications to participate. The pre-election campaign has started today, on June 7.
