Robert Kocharian on the Story Behind the Famous Photo of Nikol Pashinyan Sitting on a Lion

Years ago, a photo was taken in Tanzania. The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, spoke during a meeting with his supporters in Yerevan about the story behind the famous photo of Nikol Pashinyan sitting on a lion, which he displayed during his campaign.

“It was at the invitation of a very well-known, globally recognized individual and his family that I spent a week in Tanzania; it was not during my presidency. By the way, I must say that I have interactions with many well-known people, they invite me, I invite them, and this is going to ensure significant investment flows since trust in both the leader of the country and the country itself is important. I have never hidden that I am a hunting enthusiast, I am a member of the hunting community, I have a booklet, and I also have a registered hunting weapon. I love nature very much and respect it, which is why I have not hunted anywhere out of season and have done nothing illegal in that regard,” he said.

Kocharian noted that they are asked questions that should be directed at the authorities. “Perhaps they do not associate hopes with them because you cannot otherwise explain why they are not asking them such questions. Now, if someone wants an autograph, I can write one on the 21st, with a signature like this: holding onto a picture like an icon and coming and going,” he added.
