Nikol Pashinyan Describes a Moment of Madness from the War: "Several Million Dollars Worth of Ammunition Destroyed on the Spot"

During a meeting with his supporters in Shengavit today, Nikol Pashinyan stated that during the 2016 war, our weapons and ammunition were either depleted or on the verge of depletion, and no one mentioned that we were running out of weapons during the 44-day war.

It is noteworthy that such statements have seemingly never been made in the commission established in the National Assembly regarding the April war. Following Pashinyan's remarks, one of the participants in the meeting remarked that there was indeed a situation in Artsakh where there was a shortage of weapons.
He recounted that during one episode of the war, when the enemy was successfully displaced, anti-tank measures were exhausted, and they had requested ammunition from the command, but it was denied. He noted that a senior officer from Artsakh had been asked and persuaded to supply munitions.

Pashinyan emphasized that there should not be a distinction made. He also shared a story, highlighting that it was a moment of madness. According to Pashinyan, when a war is initiated, the first action is to deplete the warehouses and pull soldiers from the units, as it is assumed that the enemy knows their locations. “There was an incident in the war that likely correlates with the case you mentioned. We had a significant number of anti-tank measures, which were sent to direction X, and it ended up in the warehouse of one of the units, which was bombed an hour later, destroying the ammunition. If it had been taken and placed under a tree, it would have been more logical. Moreover, it was a 25-year-old unit. They put it in that warehouse, and an hour later, drones attacked and destroyed several million dollars worth of ammunition on the spot. What do you think? Is it ignorance? It could be, but it's a very cruel ignorance.”
