Video: Tensions Rise Again at Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan Border

Tensions at the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border have escalated once more. This is reported by Sputnik Kyrgyzstan, referencing the country's National Security State Committee's border service.

In Bishkek, Dushanbe has been accused of violating intergovernmental agreements regarding border delimitation and demarcation.

According to the report, on June 4, around 03:00 local time, the Tajik side began to install a container in the border area of the Unzhu-Bulak locality in the Oshak region, advancing “up to 1000 meters into Kyrgyzstan’s territory.”

Moreover, the Kyrgyz Border Service has observed a buildup of military personnel on the Tajik side, accompanied by light armored vehicles.

“The Tajik side has left the container in the specified area, which is not delineated by the state border, and has retreated 600 meters from it. Measures are being taken on the Kyrgyz side at the level of border representatives to resolve the situation, however, Tajik border representatives are not responding to phone calls,” the message states.

Border units stationed at the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border have transitioned to an enhanced service mode.
