“Don’t Compare Me to a Fool”: Galust Sahakyan on Hovik Aghazaryan
Galust Sahakyan, the Vice-President of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and former Speaker of the National Assembly, responded to Sputnik Armenia’s correspondent regarding frequent comparisons made between him and Hovik Aghazaryan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'My Step' faction. He requested that such comparisons not be made.
“Comparing a fool with Galust Sahakyan is barbaric to the nation,” he stated.
According to him, unlike Aghazaryan, he has not spoken “stupid and silly” things.
“I made jokes to prevent people from attacking each other. In the National Assembly, I calmly reduced tensions among people. No one has been able to do that after me,” Sahakyan noted.
The Vice-President of the RPA recalled one of his jokes: “A journalist asked me if I had lines, referring to the routes of minibuses. I replied, ‘Yes, but my lines are political,’” he recounted.
When asked how much his views are taken into account in the RPA now, Sahakyan replied in his signature style: “It depends on how much I take myself into account.”
It is worth mentioning that the RPA will participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20 under the alliance “I Have Honor.” However, Galust Sahakyan has not wished to include himself in the electoral list.
