The Issue of Unpaid Salaries for Nairit Workers is Being Resolved
The government has apparently decided to finally address the issue of unpaid salaries for the workers of Nairit. This was revealed during today’s government session, where Deputy Minister of Finance Karen Brutyan proposed to accept the 26th item on the agenda with reservations, as it contains issues of technical editing.
The mentioned proposal was characterized by the Deputy Minister as a question related to the salaries of Nairit employees, although it is presented in the agenda as a budget amendment concerning the allocation of funds for the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the organization of the procurement process through a one-person purchase procedure.
According to the proposal, an allocation of 285,953,600 drams is designated for “Nairit Plant” LLC to carry out 24-hour monitoring of hazardous materials at the plant to prevent potential fire or explosion risks and the emergence of environmental issues in the city of Yerevan.
Moreover, the Deputy Minister’s statement was also confirmed by Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The proposal was adopted unanimously, without discussion or reporting.
Currently, there is no mention of the salaries on the government’s website concerning the proposal. Instead, it is indicated that it was developed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations in accordance with the Prime Minister’s instruction dated May 25, 2021.
