Macron Sends Letter to Aliyev Calling for the Release of All Prisoners

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has sent a letter to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the press service of the Azerbaijani president.

Macron emphasized the necessity of working deeply to create conditions for sustainable peace. The French president urged Aliyev to release all prisoners and expressed hope for a peaceful delimitation along the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Furthermore, Macron called on Aliyev to allow UNESCO to carry out a mission in Nagorno-Karabakh. “It is important to preserve the entire heritage of the region in all its diversity. In this regard, I recommend facilitating the organization of the mission proposed by UNESCO,” stated Macron.
