Georgia and Ukraine Not Invited to June 14 Summit, Zakharova Comments on Why
According to Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, NATO's decision not to invite Georgia and Ukraine to the summit scheduled for June 14 resembles the parental expression: "Enough with the foolishness, go do your homework."
"Kyiv and Tbilisi were not invited to the NATO summit. Speaking about the prospects for Ukraine and Georgia’s membership in the North Atlantic alliance, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg reminded that defense sector reforms are the best way for these countries to achieve Euro-Atlantic integration. It sounds a bit like a parent saying, 'Go do your homework.' It’s a pity that Stoltenberg did not mention the Minsk agreements and the necessity for Kyiv to fulfill them. This is precisely the homework that needs to be completed, including making corrections," Zakharova wrote on Telegram.
