Fraudulent Funds Stolen from Artsakh Families After the War
On May 29, two identical reports were received by the Novyemberyan police. The callers, men who settled in the Koghb community after the second Artsakh war, stated they received a call from a man who introduced himself as Karen and claimed to work for a charitable organization.
He mentioned that assistance is being provided to families arriving from Artsakh, and that to deliver the aid, he requested 55,000 drams from one beneficiary and 50,000 from another as transportation fees. The men transferred the requested amounts electronically but did not receive any assistance.
The Novyemberyan police, in collaboration with the criminal investigation officers from Erevan, initiated several operational measures and established that the individual posing as Karen and fraudulently stealing money is a 30-year-old resident of Yerevan.
