First Wedding in Shurnukh After the War: The Groom is the First Child Born After the 1988 War
Today, the first wedding after the 44-day war took place in Shurnukh. In an interview with Pastinfo, the village head Hakob Arshakyan said that the groom is from Shurnukh, while the bride hails from Yerevan.
"The groom is the first child born in the village after the first Artsakh war. After this war, he is also the first to get married. The wedding was held here, and by God's will, today the Catholicos was in Shurnukh, blessing this marriage, which became a wonderful event," noted Hakob Arshakyan.
He considers the wedding to be symbolic and emphasizes that despite everything, life continues. The next steps need to be taken carefully.
According to Hakob Arshakyan, the groom works in Yerevan and most likely the newlyweds will live there. "Perhaps the parents will stay here; the young couple will be in Yerevan. That’s how it happens; if there are three boys, one or two have to live separately," the village head stated.
