VIDEO. Are There Azerbaijani Lands in Tavush? Former Tavush Governor and Minister's Clarification

Today, journalists asked the Minister of High-Tech Industry and former Tavush Governor Hayk Chobanyan whether there are Azerbaijani villages in Tavush, reminding him of the statement made by My Step faction MP Vahe Qalumyan that Azerbaijani lands exist in the region.

Chobanyan recalled that he served as the Tavush governor for two years and had addressed this issue at least three times during his term: “I have commented on this topic not only as the Tavush governor but also as a citizen of the Republic of Armenia and as an Armenian person in general. My position on this issue will never change. When we speak of the border of Tavush Province, I consider that boundary, the line where our soldiers are stationed. As a citizen and as the Minister of High-Tech Industry, it is my duty to ensure that this de facto status quo is not violated to the detriment of Armenia.”
