Mothers of Missing and Captured Soldiers Gather Near Russian Embassy: 'We Are Being Slaughtered with a Dull Knife'

“It has been eight months of deception; how much longer can they fool us? I am a mother, our throats are being cut with a dull knife,” said a mother of a missing soldier during a rally held near the Russian Embassy in Yerevan. This was reported by Faktinfo.

As previously reported, today the families of missing and captured soldiers gathered near the Russian Embassy, hoping for assistance from Russia in returning their children, as they have lost all hope for action from the Armenian authorities.

“The bones of our children have been filled into bags and stored away. Every bone represents the smoke of a household, a hero, a father to children. The government is throwing dust in our eyes,” said one of the rally participants.

She recounted that she last spoke with her 28-year-old son on October 20, just a day before he went missing. “Under the order of General Makaryan, they were taken to Zangilan. Now they say there was an error. He was from the chemists’ regiment in Ejmiatsin. They easily took the children to the captured area, knowing it would be occupied as of the 20th.”

Another soldier's mother directed her words at the authorities, asking, “Are you even human, or the product of something else?” She continued, “Let the Prime Minister celebrate his birthday; he doesn’t even have the decency. He is the most ungracious individual. He went to celebrate, and now he is going to celebrate again.”

Parents are claiming to have evidence of their children's captivity, but the authorities are taking no action towards their return and have not published confirmed lists. Instead, they seem to be attempting to silence parents who voice their grievances, by distributing DNA tests. “Anyone who speaks up is given a DNA test. This is a government of rats and scum,” said the father of one soldier.
