Erdogan Discusses Agenda for Meeting with Biden at NATO Summit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated in an interview with Turkish journalists that he plans to discuss the reasons for the tension in relations between Ankara and Washington during his meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden, according to RIA Novosti.
"I will ask why our relations have become so strained," Erdogan said, noting that the tension was not as severe during the administration of former President Donald Trump and that similar strains did not exist during previous Democratic presidents' terms.
The Turkish President accused Biden's administration of continuing to support the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is considered a terrorist organization in Ankara.
It is important to note that the meeting between the U.S. and Turkish presidents is scheduled for June 14, as part of the NATO summit.
