2000 Monuments Under Enemy Control, 122 of Which Are Churches
On June 2, a joint meeting of the Permanent Committees on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports and Financial-Budgetary and Economic Management was convened. The report on the execution of the 2020 budget of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Artsakh was presented. The revised budget plan of the Ministry was set at 18 billion 256 million 807.8 thousand drams. The actual expenditure was 16 billion 108 million 245 thousand drams, resulting in an execution rate of 88.2 percent.
The revised education sector plan amounts to 16 billion 266 million 211.3 thousand drams, with actual spending of 14 billion 287 million 397.3 thousand drams, achieving an execution rate of 87.8 percent. The revised budget for youth activities was 10 million drams, with an execution rate of 95.3 percent. The revised budget for leisure and sports allocations was 250 million 115.1 thousand drams, with an execution rate of 94.2 percent. The execution rate for the budget earmarked for recreation, culture, and religion, which was 1 billion 990 million 596.5 thousand drams, stood at 91.5 percent. The execution rate for the restoration and preservation of monuments was recorded at 64.2 percent.
In response to questions from parliament members, Minister Lusine Garakhanian informed that currently 2000 monuments are under enemy control, of which 122 are churches.
