Complaints Replace the Work That Should Be Done Calmly: Kocharian on Pashinyan's Government
In Armenia, I cannot recall any government that has demonstrated its attitude toward the judicial system with such expressions, actions, and concrete steps. This was stated by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, during a meeting with legal scholars.
“Such things have not happened before. You always think that the judicial system is an independent branch; you may be dissatisfied with something, but that should not give you the right to take such actions. The government should not be querulous. If you see a problem, try to address it. The government should not cause constant anxiety and agitation within society,” noted Robert Kocharian.
He emphasized that the judicial system should be left alone. He mentioned that now it is essential to allow that authority to recover.
“A well-functioning mechanism should not be subjected to pressure. It should do its job by itself, and you should understand its poor performance only when something is interfering. The same applies to the state system. Those who complain a lot are substituting for the work that should be done calmly with their complaints,” stated Robert Kocharian.
