Video: Firefighting Efforts at the Masis City Landfill Have Been Halted
The firefighting and rescue teams of the Emergency Situations Ministry in Yerevan and the regional rescue departments have been conducting firefighting operations and monitoring at the Masis city landfill for nine days. The firefighting efforts have now been halted. Further preventive measures will be implemented by the employees of the Masis city landfill.
It is worth reminding that on May 22, the Ararat regional crisis management center received information about a fire that broke out at the Masis city landfill, necessitating the assistance of firefighters. Two firefighting crews from the regional rescue department were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that approximately 2 hectares of waste had burned.
Two more firefighting units from Yerevan's rescue department were sent to the location to assist. Firefighting operations were also carried out by 2 crawler tractors and 1 water truck on site.
