President Signs Decree to Dismiss Ara Ayvazyan
The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has signed a decree to dismiss Ara Ayvazyan from his position as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs. This was reported by the Presidential Administration.
“Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with Article 131 of the Constitution and also Article 5, Part 1 of the Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government, Ara Ayvazyan is dismissed from his occupied position,” the decree states.
It is noteworthy that Ayvazyan, who was appointed as Foreign Minister on November 18, 2020, submitted his resignation on May 27, 2021. Ayvazyan had a farewell meeting with the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
