Azerbaijan's Parliament Approves Bill on Shushi
The Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan discussed and adopted in the third reading the bill titled "On Shushi, the Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan" during its plenary session on May 31, local media reports.
The bill specifically envisages the establishment of a state reserve in Shushi and a related special fund. According to the document, priority will be given to environmentally friendly types of transportation within the city area.
It is noteworthy that on November 9, the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan reached an agreement regarding the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. A statement was signed transferring seven regions of Artsakh to Azerbaijan, including Shushi and Hadrut, with the exception of one village, as well as the villages of Askeran and Martuni districts, and the villages of Talish and Mataghis in the Martakert region.
