Russia's Proposal on Border Delimitation Acceptable for Armenia: Nikol Pashinyan
The proposal from Armenia's strategic partner regarding the border situation is acceptable. This was stated today by Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with supporters at the Aparan office of the Civil Contract party.
“We believe that these proposals are acceptable, and we have also presented suggestions on how we can practically implement them. The proposals from the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group are also acceptable to us, meaning that Russia is also a co-chairing country, and there is, in fact, a consensus,” said Pashinyan.
He reminded that the co-chairs of the Minsk Group have suggested that the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan withdraw from the border line in a mirror-like manner, so that discussions can begin on the refinement of the borders.
In response to rumors that there are secret agreements between the governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Pashinyan denied this, stating that if such a thing were true, everything would be done to ensure that the pre-election period remained calm. Pashinyan added that if there are behind-the-scenes agreements, they might involve the entities that removed Nagorno-Karabakh from the negotiation process in 1997-98.
