We Can Equip Our Army with Several Modernized Weapons: Robert Kocharian
During a meeting with citizens of three administrative districts of Yerevan and the active members of the "Armenia" alliance, the second President of Armenia and leader of the "Armenia" alliance, Robert Kocharian, stated that this war has shown that the defense industry should have been the sector capable of providing crucial ammunition for the army.
"We saw that we are surrounded by countries where even using airspace was quite problematic for us. We had serious import issues for three weeks. This was a very heavy lesson for Armenia, but if we do not learn something from it and significantly change our policy regarding the defense industry, we will remain in front of the same broken trough. Yes, we need to act. It is clear that a small country cannot engage in all types of military equipment, but we are capable of doing so with a few key modernized types. There are countries of our sizes that have outstanding results in the defense industry. We need to have a serious defense industrial complex," said Kocharian.
