"From Early Morning, Journalists are Reporting to the Ombudsman's Office"
Today, from early morning, journalists have been reporting to the Human Rights Defender, stating that they are being prohibited from approaching the Sardarapat Memorial complex to cover official events.
The journalists noted that there had been no prior announcement indicating that entry to the Sardarapat Memorial complex would be closed to them, and no clarifications or justifications were provided on the spot.
The Human Rights Defender emphasizes that in any case, media outlets should be informed in advance about the conditions for covering such upcoming events, as well as any restrictions, through previously published clarifications or justifications.
Society learns about events occurring in the country and the work of public bodies through the media; therefore, their unobstructed professional activities must be guaranteed.
