It Is Necessary to Return to the Presidential System. Levon Ter-Petrosyan
Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the first President of Armenia, stated today during a broadcast on Public Television that the parliamentary system is a "misfortune" for Armenia. He emphasized the need to revert to a presidential system.
"This parliamentary system is a misfortune for us, it leads to destruction. It is necessary to return to the presidential system. The biggest mistake of Serzh was this, and he brought this mistake upon himself... I am not saying that we are an ignorant nation. But there are mature societies and politically immature societies. In such countries, a parliamentary system is a disaster," said the president.
