The Consequences of Azerbaijan's Actions and the Inadequate International Response: Details of Ayvazyan and Zarif's Meeting
Feeling emboldened by a sense of impunity, Azerbaijan is attempting to create new geopolitical realities that do not align with the interests of countries concerned about regional stability. This opinion was expressed by Acting Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. The information was shared by Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan in a Facebook post.
"It is undeniable that this aggression against Armenia's territorial integrity is a direct consequence of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Artsakh since September 27 of last year, as well as the inadequate international and regional response to Azerbaijan's actions that threaten regional peace," Ayvazyan stated.
According to him, dialogue with our regional partners is more important than ever under these circumstances. Addressing the Armenian-Iranian agenda, Ayvazyan noted that it is quite comprehensive, based on centuries-old friendly relations between the two peoples.
"Our friendship is the best example of intercultural dialogue and the coexistence of different religions and civilizations, founded on mutual trust and respect. This is the key to achieving peace and stability in the region," Ayvazyan emphasized.
It is noteworthy that Zarif arrived in Armenia this morning. His last visit to Armenia was in January of this year, and prior to this visit, he was in Azerbaijan yesterday, on May 25.
