Russia is the only country that provided practical assistance to Armenia: Russian Ambassador
Russia is the only country that provided practical assistance to Armenia in this difficult situation. This was stated today by the Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopirkin, during the conference titled ‘The Image of Russia’s Strategic Ally in Modern Armenian Society.’
According to the ambassador, military operations were halted through great efforts, preventing the loss of young lives, which is very important. Significant efforts are being made and resources are being allocated to restore peace to Nagorno-Karabakh and create conditions for its further development.
“We attach great importance to the fact that the population of Armenia overcomes as soon as possible the stress brought by the war, feels secure, and gains confidence in tomorrow. The Russian military base, our border guards, and their efforts to ensure normal life in Syunik play a significant role in this process. We all know that serious steps are being taken to deepen our cooperation in the field of security, including in defense ministries,” said Kopirkin.
He noted that work has begun in a trilateral format aimed at unblocking communications in the region, and according to Kopirkin, this aspect demonstrates Russia's approach to security and allied issues. “This approach, of course, implies all possible assistance to ensure the security of our allies and protect their interests. At the same time, we proceed from the idea that this issue can only be effectively resolved by creating and strengthening the prerequisites for peaceful development and stability in the region,” stated Kopirkin.
