Collision in Spitak Involves a Ministry of Defense Officer's Volkswagen and a Company Employee's Fiat; 14-Year-Old Child Hospitalized
Today, on May 26, a serious traffic accident occurred in the Lori region. Around 07:10, on S. Avetisyan Street in Spitak city, in front of the "Alex" supermarket, a collision took place between a Fiat driven by 45-year-old Yura Kotoyan, a resident of Vanadzor, and a Volkswagen Golf driven by 24-year-old Mamikon Khachatryan from the Armavir region.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, a 14-year-old J.K., a passenger in Yura Kotoyan's Fiat, was taken to the "Spitak" medical center with injuries.
Emergency services from the Lori regional rescue administration's Spitak fire and rescue squad arrived on the scene with one combat unit.
Traffic police from the 2nd police battalion’s 5th squad also arrived quickly, led by squad commander Lyudvig Ghandilyan and platoon commander Arman Sukiasyan. The senior investigator of the same squad, G. Mukojan, is leading the investigative work at the scene, and materials are being prepared regarding the fact.
Police operatives from the Spitak division, led by the deputy head of the division H. Yaghubyan, also arrived promptly.
According to G. Shamshyan, the injured child is the daughter of the Fiat driver, who works at the "Shant Gyurjoyan" company in Vanadzor, while the Volkswagen driver serves in the N military unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia as a platoon commander.
