The Enemy is Firing, We are Responding: Current Situation on the Gegharkunik Border

There is a high level of tension, highly explosive, the enemy is firing, we are responding. This was stated by Hakob Avetyan, the head of Geghamasar, in an interview with Auroranews.

Avetyan mentioned that the shootings are occurring in the territory of the Kuth village of the enlarged community of Geghamasar. “The gunfire is not intense; the Azerbaijanis are firing to keep the situation tense. The enemy has not made any advances, and there are no casualties or injured. The most painful part is that we have captured soldiers,” he said.

It is recalled that on the early morning of May 27, in the border area of Gegharkunik province of the Republic of Armenia, six servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces were surrounded and captured by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces during engineering work on the territory protected by Military Unit N. Necessary measures are being taken to return the captured servicemen.
