25-Year-Old Driver Hits Pedestrian with Nissan and Flees
A fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in Yerevan on the 25th. Around 20:40, an unidentified person driving a Nissan with unknown license plates struck a pedestrian, 40-year-old Erik Gabrielyan, in front of 13/10 Khandjian Street.
According to journalist Gagik Shamshyan, the victim was thrown forward and collided with a Kia vehicle, while the driver of the Nissan fled the scene of the traffic accident. The victim, Erik Gabrielyan, lost consciousness en route to the Number 1 Clinical Hospital and was pronounced dead.
Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated based on Article 242, Part 2 and Article 244, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, as per the decision of N. Stepanyan. According to G. Shamshyan, a while later, a 25-year-old resident of Yerevan named Sergey Sardarov presented himself at the Marash Police Department and reported that he had caused the accident, and the Nissan was taken to a secure area of Yerevan's traffic police.
