What Is the Situation in Voskepar Village? The Village Mayor Explains
Currently, everything in the village is normal and no actions are taking place. This was stated by the mayor of Voskepar village in the Tavush region, Serob Makhsudyan, in an interview with Tert.am.
"No actions are taking place in the village yet, and everything is still normal, but no one can say that Voskepar is Azerbaijani; I believe that it is a misunderstanding," said Serob Makhsudyan.
He also noted that there are facts in the village that show Voskepar is an ancient Armenian village. "Our well-known Holy Mother of God Church is located in the village, which is an ancient apostolic church, and from this, it is already clear how old the village is; it cannot be Azerbaijani. I think these discussions are misunderstandings," he said.
It is worth mentioning that yesterday, MP Hayk Ghahumyan from the My Step faction stated that there are Azerbaijani lands in Tavush that are under Armenian control and there are areas that are under Azerbaijani control, specifically mentioning Barkhudarlu, Sofulu, Kheyrimlu, and Voskepar, stating that maps categorize these villages as Azerbaijani territories.
