The 'Key to Artsakh' Monument Installed Without Awareness of the Artsakh Republic's Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Artsakh Republic has released a statement from Minister Lusine Gharakhanyan, which states:

“Dear compatriots, the ‘Key to Artsakh’ monument, which is placed near the ‘We Are Our Mountains’ statue, is a questionable monument with magical connotations that was installed without the awareness of the Artsakh Republic's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports. This is a shameful concept that ties superstition, magic, and the defense of Artsakh with mystical forces. It is subject to dismantling, as it absolutely does not conform to the dogma of the Armenian Apostolic Church and our national spirit. I will send a formal letter today to Mr. D. Sargsyan, the Mayor of Stepanakert, to initiate the removal of the statue. That which contradicts our national thinking and value system cannot have a place or role in Artsakh.”
