Azerbaijanis Stopped a Vehicle Coming to the Village, Asked for Cigarettes: Khoynavor Mayor

Recently, Azerbaijanis stopped a vehicle coming to the village and asked for cigarettes. We have now come and blocked their way. This was reported to Tert.am by Khoynavor Mayor Varo Grigoryan.

“It’s dark right now, nothing is visible, we don’t know where they are,” said Grigoryan.

When asked about the inter-agency commission established by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which was in the Khoynavor community yesterday, the mayor mentioned that he has no information about the commission: “I am not aware of anything.”

Varo Grigoryan noted that the situation in the village is normal. When asked earlier, he mentioned that Russian troops are coming together with Armenian troops to stand at the Khoynavor border. The mayor replied, “The Russian 'Willis' has come, climbed the mountain, and has not entered the village,” and when asked if the Russian troops are there together with the Armenian forces, the mayor responded affirmatively.

We remind that for several days now, Azerbaijani armed forces have illegally entered the territory of the Republic of Armenia in the Gegharkunik and Syunik regions, with Azerbaijani forces withdrawing from some areas while maintaining a presence in others. Armenia has appealed to the CSTO regarding this issue.
