I Believe We Will Receive a Response from Our Allies: Makunts on Addressing the CSTO

Lilith Makunts, the head of the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly, believes that Armenia will receive a response from the CSTO and Russia regarding the issue of Azerbaijani incursions into Armenian territory. Makunts expressed this opinion during a regular session of the National Assembly, addressing the emphases raised by opposition colleagues.

She first recalled that the Raftarian authorities, in light of Armenia's security interests, have appealed to the CSTO and the Russian Federation expecting support concerning the incursions into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. "And I believe we will receive a response from our allies," said Makunts.

She also mentioned that the Minister of Foreign Affairs regularly meets with colleagues from various countries, and they discuss this topic on all possible platforms. Makunts urged her colleagues not to bring the sentiments present in certain circles of society into parliament and to try to speak from balanced positions while representing Armenia's interests. "I think we will still receive a response," Makunts concluded.

Earlier, during the National Assembly session, independent MP Arman Babajanyan expressed dissatisfaction with the CSTO's response. Referring to the appeal to Russia, he remarked that Armenia did not appeal to Russia for demarcation and delimitation, yet Russia essentially proposed this.
