Escaped Prisoner from Vagharchapat Medical Center Detected

A 29-year-old man who escaped from the Vagharchapat Medical Center has been located two hours later. This information was provided by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia's Penitentiary Service.

It was noted that G.M., a detainee born in 1992, was receiving inpatient treatment at the Vagharchapat Medical Center when he fled on May 25 at around 05:30.

“In order to locate the escaped detainee, an alert was immediately declared at the Ministry of Justice's penitentiary service, and all relevant units and forces were mobilized. As a result of consistent and extensive operational-investigative and search measures, G.M. was found in Yerevan at around 07:30 and was apprehended to the penitentiary institution of the Republic of Armenia in Armavir,” the statement said.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
