Azerbaijan Plans to Build Football Stadiums in Shushi and Other Regions of Nagorno-Karabakh under Its Control
Following the second Artsakh war, a football stadium will be built in Shushi, which has come under Azerbaijani control. This was announced by Ramin Musaev, the president of the Azerbaijani Professional Football League, in a conversation with reporters.
He specified that after Shushi, football stadiums will also be constructed in other regions of Nagorno-Karabakh now under Baku's control. “A stadium will definitely be established in Agdam (Aknagh). There are people who want to create new clubs in Kubatlu (Sanasar). There was already a team in Bardar (Partav). Of course, the creation of new teams will increase interest in the championship,” Musaev stated.
It is noteworthy that on November 9, the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan reached an agreement on the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, and a statement was signed which transferred seven regions of Artsakh, Shushi, and Hadrut to Azerbaijan, with the exception of one village, as well as the villages of Askeran and Martuni districts, and the villages of Talish and Mataghis in the Martakert district.
