Caparros Releases the Squad List for the Armenian National Team

23 players have been called up, including 5 newcomers. The head coach of the Armenian national team, Joaquin Caparros, has published the list of players called up for the national team.

For the first time, goalkeeper Arman Nersesyan from FC BKMA, defenders Albert Khachumyan and Davit Terteryan from FC Ararat-Armenia, midfielder David Davidian from FC Alashkert, and forward Karen Melkonyan from FC Urartu have been called up to the Armenian national team.

In an interview with the official website of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA), Joaquin Caparros discussed the importance of the upcoming matches and commented on the selection of players: “The next two matches are very important. We will compete against teams that are preparing for the European Championship, gearing up for official matches that will take place in September. When the national team plays, there are no friendly matches; all games are important because we represent the nation and the country.”

Several key players will be absent from this squad. “We know these players very well, we have great hopes for them, and we value their roles. However, this time we decided to give them a chance to rest and to see some young players in action. I believe there is no better opportunity for them than this. We have invited those players who have performed well in the domestic league and we want to test their abilities against strong national teams like Croatia and Sweden,” added Caparros.
