Armenian Ministry of Defense Denies Reports of 160 Armenian Soldiers in Iran for the Second Time
The Armenian Ministry of Defense has addressed reports regarding the alleged presence of Armenian soldiers in Iran, once again denying such claims.
“As previously stated in response to inquiries from various media outlets, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia does not possess any information regarding the presence of even a single Armenian serviceman in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the ministry's statement reads.
Today, in relation to reports circulated by some media about the presence of 160 Armenian soldiers in Iran, the Armenian embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement, which emphasizes: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Armenia denies and considers the information circulating in certain Armenian media about the presence of 160 Armenian soldiers in Iran to be false and groundless, and that the Iranian side has set conditions for their return.”
It should be noted that several months ago, the Armenian Ministry of Defense held discussions with its Iranian counterparts, during which the rumors about the potential presence of Armenian servicemen in Iran were not confirmed,” the statement continued.
