This is not a new idea, because I have announced it from this podium: Pashinyan

The document published by the opposition is real. This was announced by acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the extraordinary session of the National Assembly, adding that the Armenian stance remains the same: the armed forces of Azerbaijan must leave the territory of the Republic of Armenia without any preconditions.

“As a result of discussing this situation, since there is a fact that we do not have a delimited and demarcated border with Azerbaijan, a very important question arises: well, we resolved this situation, but if at the next moment, in the next phase, similar situations arise again, are we going to go through the path of creating such international noise, consensus every time? After all, we have a situation that has formed under circumstances known to all of us, and that situation must be managed. During this time, a proposal has been formulated to establish a trilateral commission that will deal with these issues,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

The acting Prime Minister stated that he did not consider it appropriate for the government to publish a working document that is still in the discussion stage. “But since it has been published by the opposition, I will say that yes, that is the only document that has been in our working circulation for a day and a half or two days. What is the most important provision in that document? It is that the parties commit that border situations are resolved not by mutual troop movements but only through diplomatic and political means. Is this a new idea? No, because I have announced it from this podium,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

The acting Prime Minister emphasized that he had previously stated that the formation of these commissions should take place after the armed forces of Azerbaijan leave our country's territory and are located beyond our borders, according to the status quo of May 10.

“Either we will record such a provision in the document that, say, within 3 days, 4 days, the process of withdrawal of those troops will take place. This is the whole story. And I want to tell you that there is no secret appendix,” Pashinyan emphasized.
