Keep Your Spirits High, Heads Up: Alen Simonyan's New Post

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan made a post on his Facebook page regarding the events that took place yesterday:

“In brief, about yesterday:

  1. The Azerbaijani network in Armenia, through its direct or indirect agents, spreads a segment of a video from the Armenian-Azerbaijani confrontation, showing how Azerbaijani soldiers behave rudely towards our soldiers, committing acts of violence. The reaction of our boys is deliberately omitted from the footage to become a topic of maximum exploitation, making us feel as diminished as possible and, naturally, seeking a culprit.
  2. Against the backdrop of these informational attacks, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, on May 19, not finding information regarding such an event, denies it, but an hour and a half later confirms that the segment of the video is part of a recording from the 17th, about which information was already present in the media.
  3. I am publishing the clarification from the Ministry of Defense, clearly stating that according to the Ministry, such a thing did not happen, while later referencing the same source to update the information again, pointing back to the Ministry's statement. Following that, my page is attacked, with insults beneath my photos and misinformation that I have deleted my page. All users who allowed themselves to post insults have been blocked. I should also add that I am reclaiming all statements with their superlative degree.
  4. Out of helplessness and in a state of panic, using the created tension, a photo of a document is published, wherein 95% of the text is obscured and presented as a new document by which the authorities are supposedly preparing to hand over or concede something. It is obvious that if such a thing were to happen, the document would be published in full, whereas the intent here is to create panic.
  5. Yesterday and before that, various clowns' actions were set in motion, designed to ensure that people are subjected to terror. Comments and videos are circulating in the internet, calling people to the streets at night and inciting unrest. Honestly, I am surprised how anyone can listen to such people and gather at night near a shopping mall or the government building with a mere 10-20 individuals.

In summary of what is happening: All this is done for several reasons. It is clear that there is outside influence on these people, and they are collaborating either directly or indirectly with our enemy. The goal is to weaken the Armenian government from within to achieve success during negotiations with external parties.

It is evident that the developments, despite us losing the war six months ago, are being carried out by the Republic of Armenia from stronger and more correct positions than expected, and this must not be allowed. It is evident that the ruling power is head and shoulders above in the elections scheduled for just 30 days later, which must not be permitted at any cost.

It is evident that there is an aim to discredit the AR government’s statements to dictate their own agenda, and the Ministry of Defense's oversight yesterday was a good opportunity for that.

Finally, the document presented yesterday as a defeat, in reality, is very important and beneficial to the Armenian side; if implemented, it will silence many dissenters and has caused panic among the
