Video: MAN and IVECO Ice Cream Truck Collide in Chayni Turn, Several Injured

A major car accident and fire occurred in the Kotayk region today. At approximately 11:40 AM, vehicles of the IVECO and MAN brands collided on the 28th km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, reports shamshyan.com.

As a result of the accident, two individuals were transported to the "Mikayelian" Institute of Surgery in Yerevan.

After investigators conducted an examination of the scene and were preparing to head to the hospital to confirm the identities of the injured, a fire broke out in the IVECO. In response, Yervand Alexanyan, the duty officer of the Traffic Police's 1-77 operational management center, informed the emergency situations ministry’s rescue service operational management center at 9-11, which promptly dispatched units from the fire-rescue brigade of Yerevan’s Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts, as well as from Abovyan’s fire-rescue brigade No. 45 with one combat unit.

The fire-rescue teams managed to extinguish the fire in the IVECO; however, the vehicle was completely reduced to ashes. The IVECO was loaded with ice cream. The firefighters also carried out road washing operations.
